CNC MACHINISTS - 2nd, 3rd Shift

CNC machinists have the ability to set up and operate numerically controlled horizontal lathes and/or various numerically controlled mills. Workers perform machining operations such as turning, boring, facing, and threading parts for castings, forgings, and bar stock. Applicants who are hired for 2nd or 3rd shift may have the opportunity to move to days due to the continuing growth at Excel and the constant movement of our employees within the machine shop.

MANUAL MACHINISTS - 1st, 2nd, 3rd Shift
• Main Shop - 1st, 2nd, 3rd Shift
Manual machinists have the ability to set up and operate horizontal and/or vertical lathes of various sizes. Workers perform machining operations such as turning, boring, facing, and threading parts for castings, forgings, and bar stock. Applicants who are hired for 2nd or 3rd shift may have the opportunity to move to days due to the continuing growth at Excel and the constant movement of our employees within the machine shop.

WAREHOUSE TECHNICIANS - 2nd, 3rd Shift
This position will perform many miscellaneous duties in the warehouse and may include: shipping and receiving parts, record keeping, packaging parts, painting parts, protecting parts, crate building, material handling, and many more. Other duties will include keeping the warehouse cleaned and organized and this person may also assist other areas of the warehouse.

FOUNDRY TECHNICIANS - 3rd Shift
This position involves assisting other foundry workers with melting metal, pouring metal into molds, removing castings from molds, and dressing castings in a team environment.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT REPRESENTATIVE - 1st Shift
This person will work very closely with our customers, distributors, agents and outside sales force on a daily basis. This position will also require processing sales quotes and sales orders. This position is also responsible for communicating order status information back to the customer and problem resolution.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERS - 1st Shift
This position has responsibility for coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects. Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates assigned engineering work; monitors work for compliance to applicable customer requirements, accepted engineering practices, and industry standards; ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project participants. Responsible and accountable to ensure that all assigned personnel are coordinating their activities with other project participants, and that the customer requirements are being satisfied. Position is expected to have sufficient technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognize when technical problems are developing in the various disciplines, and to initiate appropriate corrective actions. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to engineering work at Excel or on the customer site; occasional travel is required.

FINAL QUALITY TECHNICIAN - 2nd Shift
This position involves inspecting parts with many different types of checking methods. Some parts may be very large and require setting up to inspect. Experience in inspection and machining is a plus. Position will require working extra hours and flexibility in hours worked.

SALES TERRITORY MANAGER – Offsite
This position would represent Excel in the Northwestern region of the United States (Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana). The ideal candidate will be located or willing to relocate to any of the following metropolitan areas: Sacramento, San Francisco, Oakland, Portland, or Seattle. Extensive overnight travel is required (at least three nights per week, 40+ weeks per year). Expertise and knowledge in the aggregate and mineral processing industries is a must, sales experience is a plus. Candidates should have high communications skills and a 4 year degree or combination of experience and college education.

SUPPLIER QUALITY DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST - 1st Shift
This person will work with suppliers to develop quality product as well as resolve any quality issues detected upon incoming inspection. The goal of this position is to work with new and existing suppliers to ensure FLS quality standards are being met and to resolve quality issues as they arise. The position will also work with FLS suppliers to ensure timely delivery of material while maintaining a high standard of product quality. They will act as a liaison between Purchasing, Quality, and the FLS-Pekin supplier base to perform their duties and responsibilities. Successful candidates should have a two-year college degree, or two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of the two. To perform this job successfully candidates should be able to read and comprehend blueprints and possess a strong computer proficiency, especially JD Edwards AS400 Database software and Microsoft Suites.

SENIOR BUYER : CASTINGS - 1st Shift
The Senior Buyer is to possess an intimate knowledge of the commodity he/she is responsible for. This includes a strong knowledge of the product, the processes used to make the product, the supplier base, and the costs associated with the product. This position will also be required to act as backup to the Purchasing Manager and provide input into purchasing decisions associated with the Purchasing Group. A four-year college degree, four years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. To perform this job successfully candidates should be able to read and comprehend blueprints and possess a strong computer proficiency, especially JD Edwards AS400 Database software and Microsoft Suites.

EXPEDITOR - 1st Shift
This person will include following up on purchases; obtaining, verifying accuracy and filing order acknowledgements; working with suppliers to prioritize open orders; reviewing and acting upon expedite reports; and following all aspects of the purchase order process from its issue to receipt. Basic functions of this position include: determining specific expediting strategies for each assignment to assure that committed project schedules to equipment delivery are met; acting as a primary purchasing expeditor for purchased in order to support project delivery needs; identifying and correcting any variances to work flow schedules in either vendor or FLS programs depending on the nature of the conflict; recording and maintaining expediting information in purchasing system with pertinent records for each vendor; and notifying the Purchasing Manager and/or Buyers of any material delays discovered through the expediting function. Candidates must be computer efficient and have 3+ years of expediting or purchasing follow-up experience. A BS degree is preferred or equivalent combination of work experience and education.

SHIPPING TECHNICIANS –3rd Shift
This position involves, but is not limited to: shipping and receiving parts; packaging and painting parts; entering data into computerized record keeping system; loading and unloading trucks; maintaining inventory with accuracy.

SERVICE TECHNICIAN - 1st Shift
This position requires extensive travel to customer mine sites and quarries to provide technical support in the installation and commissioning of Raptor cone crushers and auxiliary equipment. Site work may also include problem solving, on site repairs and technical training, relating to the operation and maintenance of the Raptor cone crushers. A candidate will be allowed to work out of their home and FLSmidth Minerals (Pekin) has a strong need for a Service Technician working in the US Southwest. A minimum of two years experience with cone crusher maintenance with respect to trouble shooting, repairing and rebuilding isrequired. Experience with other types and brands of crushers is a plus. Computer abilities, including being functional with the suite of Microsoft Office programs is highly desirable. The ability to speak a second language, particularly Spanish, is a plus.

TRAFFIC COORDINATOR ASSISTANT- 1st Shift
This position will assist the Traffic Coordinator on overseas incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure completeness and condition of shipments, prepare bills of lading, request written and oral quotes for the sales department and customers, match freight bills to specific sales orders and invoices, and properly distribute international shipping documentation to guarantee proper compliance with customs regulations and customer requirements.

PARTS PREP –1st, 3rd Shift
This position will perform many miscellaneous jobs in the warehouse including: clean incoming parts for inspection; paint preparation; part protection; many other tasks needed. This person will help assist other areas of the warehouse. Keep warehouse clean and organized.

INVENTORY TECHNICIAN – 3rd Shift
This position will perform many miscellaneous jobs in the warehouse. Some of these duties may include: shipping and receiving parts, recordkeeping, packaging parts, protecting parts, crate building, material handling, and many more. Other duties will include keeping the warehouse cleaned and organized. This person will help assist other areas of the warehouse.

HR MANAGER – 1st Shift
This person will be responsible for all major human resource functions. Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to: recordkeeping, employee orientation, employee benefits enrollment, employee development and training, employee safety and welfare, employee wellness and health. This person will be responsible for FLSmidth complying to all applicable federal and Illinois laws including OSHA, USERRA, FMLA, FSLA, Unemployment, Workers’ Compensation, etc. This person will also be responsible for the recruiting, interviewing, staffing and payroll functions of human resources. Ideal candidates possess strong communication and organizational skills. This person should be someone who is very employee-oriented and will lead by example to enhance our company culture. Candidates should have a 4 year degree and 3+ years of experience in human resources.
